Embark upon a day full of training led by multiple trainers in a variety of specialties.  The day will include classes such as:

Person-Centered Intervention Techniques

Whether you work in a hospital, dementia care, a residential treatment facility, with people on the autism spectrum, in education, social services, outpatient behavioral health—in any capacity with people who need your help—you’re likely using person-centered approaches more and more every day.  Across fields, care professionals have been moving away from an institutional, task-oriented approach and toward a more holistic approach that honors the individual in care—as well as the caregiver.

With Person-Centered Care, a holistic view of the person in care evolves into:

  • Checking assumptions
  • Choosing language and vocabulary carefully
  • Leveling the hierarchy within the organization
  • Changing expectations and beliefs about people
  • Adjusting attitudes
  • Building support networks to wrap around those in care

Medication Administration Refresher Course

This Medication Administration Refresher course will serve to provide a review of medication management task performance for direct support professionals, behavioral technicians, program coordinators, and program directors.  The refresher serves those who have previously completed the Medication Administration Training Course provided through Howry or other certified agency as required by the MN DHS. This course will cover major topics related to Medication Administration within your specific setting.

Annual Topics

This includes topics required under MN Statute 245D including, but not limited to, Service Recipient Rights, Vulnerable Adult Act, Maltreatment of Minors Act, MN Data Privacy Act, HIPAA, OSHA, fraud, incident and emergency responding and reporting, daily documentation requirements, and the principles of Person-Centered Planning.
